Here is the review of the ride me, my gf, nico and his friends did June 29 to July 4.

First of all, just want to say another time congratulation to PJ and Isha!!! wish you all the best!

Ok, here is all the story!

It all starts on wednesday afternoon when i went to the gararge for a rear time rotation. I knew that they were praticly finished, but i was thinking they were good enough for the ride. Once the car was on the lift, the mecanical make me realized that my tire was finish.... on the roap. So now i was in trouble because i was leaving thursday morning at 5h am. And i didnt want to be late in the schedule. Finally, i call a friend, and by a miraculus chance, he had 2 rear tire (245/40/19) . So it was thight on time but i get those tire installed!!!
So i went to bed at midnight and sleep until 4h30.

We leave home thursay morning at 5h10 and meet nico out of montreal at 6h. By then, the long road begin. 22h ride and 1900 km separate us from atlanta.

At the border, nico passed first and he got told to pull over... We loose 45-1h of time. I'll let nico told you all the story because i dont know all the story.

After that, we hit the road to Syracuse at the Caroussel shipping mail (big thanks tho abice who told us this place! thanks you!!!) After a little diner, we take the road to Whythville by the 81 highway. There is nothing special to tell about this first day of travel, it was only boring highway!

So we arrived at the motel 6 in Wytheville, at 1 am, and we go in bed at 1h30. We woke up at 7h, went to waffle house (quite a horrible place lol ) and hit the road at 9h.
We took some small road with 60 mph speed limit that suprise us, because there was almost no way to go at this speed... we finally arrived at the blue ridge parkway at 10h15. but the BRP was closed... :growl: so we an other road and we finally take the BRP at 12.

BRP is an awsome place to go. The pavment is perfect, the is curve everywhere, almost no straight line. So we did maybe 225 miles on the BRP and we arrived at the end ( city of cherokee). We ate and we decide to do Tail of the dragon sunday. So we arrived at the hotel at 10h pm.

Sunday we woke up at 7h30 am and we leave at 9h for tail of the dragon. Its a good place to go but its seriously to short to appreciate all the twistie road. I prefer the BRP.

So after doing an awsome ride on the tail of the dragon, we take the road to came back to Atlanta for the reception. the problem was that there was an accident on the road and it was completly blocked. We decided to take an other road and arrived at the hotel at 7h10. Reception was at 7h30!!!! so we put our clothes fast and we where not to late!

And then monday moring we leave Atlanta at 6h for a on shot deal, Atlanta-Montreal!!! So we hit the road monday morning at 6h am and we arrived at home in Montreal at 5h am tuesday morning ! (nothing to say about this day.... only highway !)

And nico feel free to add information to this !!!

Those pictures are drivig time only. The time we stop to eat and everything else.

The first day of driving. Montreal to Wytheville

Good meeting you at the reception! I agree with your analysis of the tail of the dragon. Although it's 318 curves in 11 miles, it goes by relatively quickly.

it was fun to do it. Because i'm from montreal, i'll never go there often. so we took the ocassion. But i prefer Blue ridge parkway. It's why next year, i'll do all the blue ridge parkway + the skyline dirve! it's gonna be awsome !
